MIIT: New energy vehicle sales accounted for more than 30% of total new vehicle sales in May
According to the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in May, China's new energy vehicle sales reached 30.1% of the total new vehicle sales of automobiles.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Equipment Industry Division I introduced that in May 2023, automobile production and sales completed 2.333 million and 2.382 million units respectively, up 21.1% and 27.9% year-on-year. from January to May, automobile production and sales completed 10.687 million and 10.617 million units respectively, both up 11.1% year-on-year.
In May, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 713,000 and 717,000 units respectively, up 53% and 60.2% year-on-year respectively; new energy vehicle sales reached 30.1% of total new vehicle sales. from January to May, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 3,005,000 and 2,940,000 units respectively, up 45.1% and 46.8% year-on-year respectively; new energy vehicle sales reached New energy vehicle sales reached 27.7% of total new vehicle sales.
Data show that from January to April, the added value of the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 11.8% year-on-year; completed operating income of 2,860.94 billion yuan, up 11.5% year-on-year; achieved a profit of 112.28 billion yuan, up 2.5% year-on-year.
In terms of exports, in May, 389,000 complete vehicles were exported, up 58.7% year-on-year. From January to May, 1.758 million vehicles were exported, an increase of 81.5% year-on-year. New energy vehicles exported 457,000 units, an increase of 1.6 times year-on-year.
